Lane Cove Blocked Toilets, Done Properly

1000+ five-star reviews

Few calls feel as urgent as a toilet that won't stop rising, and it's the single-fixture job we get asked to handle most.

Working out whether it's one bowl or the whole bathroom decides how we approach it.

Call (02) 9134 9059 and speak straight to a licensed plumber, no machine in the way, whatever the hour.

Blocked Toilets: What We Actually Do

Toilet call-outs split into two quite different jobs once we're on-site.

  • A single stubborn bowl – wipes, excess paper or something dropped in catching close to the trap
  • Every fixture in the house acting up together – a sign the fault sits further into the sewer, not the toilet itself
  • A blockage that keeps coming back – often something partially lodged that a plunger never fully shifted
  • Stopping an overflow before it starts – catching a rising bowl early rather than mopping up after
  • A camera look at anything unusual – confirming what and where before more water goes anywhere near it
  • A fault behind the connection itself – roots or a shifted joint that no amount of plunging will fix

Multiple fixtures affected at once points toward a blocked sewer problem, worth ruling in or out early rather than assumed away.

Six Signs Your Drains Are Asking for Blocked Toilets

Most of these are hard to miss, which is exactly the point.

  • The bowl creeping toward the rim rather than draining away properly
  • A gurgle from the toilet whenever a different tap or shower runs
  • Needing a second or third flush just to get it moving
  • A smell that lingers well after the flush has finished
  • Water showing up in the shower or floor waste when the toilet's used
  • The identical bowl blocking again within a matter of days

If it really is just that one toilet, with sinks and showers elsewhere draining fine, it's most likely a contained clog rather than anything wider.

Blocked Toilets in Lane Cove Homes

What era a Lane Cove bathroom was built in still shapes how its toilet drain behaves today.

Two building booms filled the suburb out, first on blocks set aside for returning servicemen after both world wars, then again once the flats arrived from 1962 onward.

Bathrooms near streets like Epping Road often still tie back into narrower branch lines from that earlier period, where a single-toilet clog is more likely to need a proper clear than a quick plunge sorts out.

Units built from the 1980s onward generally run on wider, more forgiving connections, so a stubborn blockage there tends to point further down the line rather than at the fixture itself.

The Factors Behind a Blocked Toilets Quote

Toilet call-outs price simply most of the time, though a handful of things can shift the number.

  • Whether it's a straightforward clog or something reaching further into the branch line
  • How easily we can get to the toilet's connection point in an older bathroom
  • Whether a camera check is warranted for a clog that keeps returning
  • Just the one fixture affected, or a wider issue elsewhere in the home
  • Strata access arrangements where the bathroom sits in a block of flats

$0 call-out fee, a free quote once we've had a look, and we won't lift a finger until the price is agreed. The seniors discount applies where relevant.

The Process, and What It Typically Takes

1. Check the bowl. We look at whether it's rising, draining sluggishly, or showing up somewhere else in the house.

2. Clear it properly. A closet auger handles the vast majority of single-toilet blockages without a mark on the bowl.

3. Look closer if it's stubborn. A repeat blockage gets a camera pass to find the real cause rather than another blind clear.

4. Test it before we leave. A flush we're happy with, not a guess.

Most jobs like this wrap up well inside an hour once we're through the door. A fault reaching into the wider sewer line takes longer, and we'll level with you about the timing rather than leave you guessing.

What NSW Requires for Blocked Toilets

Flushable wipes cause more of these call-outs than almost anything else, whatever the packaging promises.

They don't break down the way paper does, so they snag on a root or a shifted joint and slowly build into a proper blockage.

Anything past a simple, self-cleared clog, meaning work joining the fixture into the drain itself, sits under the same NSW licensed-plumber rules as the rest of our drainage work.

The Difference on a Blocked Toilets Job

An overflowing bowl is not a job anyone wants to sit with, so speed counts here more than on almost any other call.

We're on-site in 30 minutes guaranteed, and our lifetime labour warranty stands behind every clear if the same fault shows up again.

Having us come and take a look costs you nothing, either way.

Servicing Lane Cove and the Suburbs Around It

Where the same bowl won't stay clear no matter what, a CCTV drain inspection is usually the next call, since a camera finds what a plunger never will.

We answer calls across Lane Cove and out to Artarmon, Naremburn and St Leonards.

Common questions

Your Blocked Toilets FAQs

Fast answers while you wait on us.

Is a toilet clear covered by any kind of warranty?

Our lifetime labour warranty covers every toilet clear we do. Should the same fault return, we're back to sort it at no charge.

What tools do you actually use to clear a blocked toilet?

A closet auger is sized to the pipe and handles nearly every single-toilet clog without marking the bowl. When one keeps coming back, a camera goes in to find the actual cause instead of guessing again.

Is it okay to have a go at clearing it before calling?

Give the plunger a go for an ordinary clog, and stop the moment the bowl starts creeping toward overflowing. Two attempts with no result is the point to stop and ring us.

Who is responsible if the blockage is in the sewer main?

If what looked like one blocked toilet turns out to run into a wider sewer fault, that's usually the tell it's moved past a simple clog. We'll always say plainly whose responsibility that section is before doing anything about it.

Will you come out for a strata block or a commercial bathroom?

We do, from shared bathrooms in the suburb's flat blocks through to public toilets attached to the Plaza's cafes. Getting strata sign-off sorted never slows down how fast we turn up.

Does clearing a toilet always need a licensed plumber?

Not always for a plain clog you can clear yourself. Once it involves the toilet's actual connection to the drain, or the same blockage keeps returning, NSW licensing rules kick in.
